There are an estimated 1.5 million domestic properties throughout the UK which are expected to require a Domestic Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) each year. Domestic Energy Performance Certificates not only outlines the cost of heating, hot water and lighting in homes, but also gives advice on how to cut these costs and reduce climate changing emissions. The EPC is mandatory and only a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor or Home Inspector can carry out the assessment.

What does the DEA training course involve?

EPC Training offers a 4 day fast track Domestic Energy Assessment training course which can also be taught over 2 successive weekends for those with busy schedules and other commitments. The training course is based around the Level 3 DEA City & Guilds Diploma and is suitable for those with no previous experience of the energy or construction sector.

Upon completion of your domestic energy assessor training course all candidates are required to complete a portfolio of work, essentially demonstrating occupational competence by undertaking 5 example energy performance certificates and sitting an online multiple choice exam. Our energy assessment trainers are able to fast track this training course by assisting you with preparation of your portfolio and allowing you to take your exam on-line (and provide results) on the last day of your training which speeds up qualification by weeks.
