There are an estimated 200,000 commercial properties throughout the UK which are expected to require a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) each year. This huge demand means that the Government urgently requires qualified Non-Domestic Energy Assessors to undertake assessments and produce EPC’s.
In order to become qualified you need to undertake an energy assessor training course with a Government approved provider such as City & Guilds. EPC Training has locations throughout the UK and provides one of the quickest routes to becoming a qualified energy assessor.
Non-Domestic Energy Assessment
Currently the NDEA qualification falls into 2 categories:
- Level 3 – related to simple existing buildings
- Level 4 – related to newer and more complex buildings
EPC Training brings you one of the quickest and cheapest routes to energy assessor qualification for both Level 3 and Level 4 Non-Domestic Energy Assessment (NDEA).
No previous knowledge of energy consultancy is required for the course. We would however suggest that you should be comfortable with computer data input. It is also an advantage (although not a requirement) to have at least a very basic knowledge of construction related topics. The course will be of particular relevance and interest to builders, service engineers, heating and electrical engineers, surveyors and commercial property managers.
What does the NDEA training course involve?
The NDEA training course lasts for 5 days and will allow you to assess both level 3 and level 4 commercial buildings upon qualification. The training course fees include all exam fees, assessment fees and registration.
The 5 day training course will teach you every aspect of commercial energy assessment including how to use iSBEM software, which is the standard software used by Commercial Energy Assessors to generate EPC's. City & Guilds require candidates to undertake a number of simulated commercial property assessments and to sit a multiple choice examination in order to gain the qualification which is a Diploma in NDEA training Level 3 and Level 4.
EPC Training is able to offer the training course in only 5 days because, unlike some other courses, our energy assessor trainers make your training assessment more efficient by accompanying you on visits to live commercial properties during your course and then returning to the classroom to input the data into the iSBEM software to generate your Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's). In addition to this we are able to allow you to take your energy assessment exam on-line on the final day of the course and provide you with your results on the same day. This saves you having to wait months for an energy assessment exam date and then for the results. Once the NDEA training course has finished you only need to submit some further paperwork to complete your portfolio and you can be fully qualified in a matter of weeks as opposed to months.
As you would expect with EPC Training our energy assessment trainers are experts in energy efficiency training in this area, so you know you are getting the best support available.
